DRESS CODE

 

*Please remember that dance is an art form and being a dancer is a state of mind.  If you don’t dress like a dancer, how can you call yourself a dancer?

 

All students are required to dress appropriately for dance class in dancewear.  Specific dress codes for the following classes:

 

  • Intro, Danceworks & Petite levels: 

    • any color dancewear leotard and tights

 

  • Ballet students - coming soon

       required leotard (skirt optional) and should have their hair in a bun for class

  • ‚Äč

 

 

Other classes are free to select from a variety of colors and styles of dancewear.

 

What is Not Allowed?

  • Baggy t-shirts, sweats and cover-ups that hide the body

  • Pants that are too long

  • Jewelry

  • Gum chewing

  • Hair that is not tied back off of the face

 

 

HAIR should be worn in a bun with the bangs secured off of the face for all Ballet and Pointe classes. Hair may be worn in a high ponytail for all other classes provided it does not whip the face when turning – ask the teacher if you are not sure.  Absolutely NO jewelry including necklaces, dangling earrings and bracelets may be worn in class.

 

Please send your younger dancers to class with a hairdo that will withstand the activity of her class. It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure the child’s hair is appropriate for class. Please take the time to tie it up!

Very Important:  We do not allow black patent leather tap shoes because they destroy our specialized non-slip Marley dance floors.

*** We will always allow students to wear their shoes from last season or borrowed shoes throughout the current season, but when it comes time for Recital activities, all students will be required to purchase the correct shoe assigned to each of their dance classes.  All shoes are available at the studio – Stop by the front desk to be sized.
